To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Second Shift Coordinator opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent. Quick question for you - click here
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing/production environments.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to supervise and direct others; 3 to 5 years of leadership experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace. The ability to work in all areas of an optical laboratory environment.
  • Self-direction and the ability to make decisions independently.
  • Strong awareness of safety, including clean and organized work stations.
  • Solid attention to detail.
  • Great interpersonal skills and a team-player approach.
You will work the second shift, which runs Monday through Thursday from 3:30 PM to 1 AM, and Friday from 3:30 to 7:30 PM. That totals 40 hours, and the short shift on Friday allows you to start enjoying your weekend before returning Monday afternoon. We'll also look to you to be willing to work flexible hours, as needed, to meet company goals and objectives.

As Second Shift Coordinator, you will support 15 to 20 production associates on second shift in our state-of-the-art optical lab as they create eyeglasses that help improve the lives of others by improving their sight. To be clear, this is a supervisory role, and we'll also expect you to work hands-on each day with your team.

You'll work closely with the Operations Manager, providing guidance, coaching, training and leadership to the team. This will include managing the workflow and monitoring quality and production standards for the purpose of achieving key results for aligned goals of the first and second shifts. Quick question for you - click here

Your specific responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinating the workflow and work activities to ensure quality and productivity goals are met.
  • Verifying daily job standards are being attained.
  • Providing coaching, detailed training and follow-up to production associates on all tasks and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Being multi-skilled and competent in all work stations in the department, with the ability to maintain normal product flow based on demand.
  • Acting as the primary contact for the second shift crew; being a liaison for the operations manager and HR manager.
  • Leading departmental improvement initiatives to ensure consistent implementation of procedures.
  • Ensuring proper training and safe use of equipment and technology.
  • Identifying bottlenecks and focusing on maximizing production around them.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
